PCMC SAFETY MEASURES DURING PANDEMIC
We want to reassure the public that stringent precautionary measures are and have been in place since the start of the pandemic in 2020 to ensure the safety of our patients, staff, and doctors such as:
- Stringent entrance SOP at PCMC with temperature screening, limited entry/exit points in the hospital and mandatory health declaration.
- No visitor policy in the wards, except for legal guardian or designated caretaker who is subject to a COVID-19 RT-PCR test prior to entry.
- Mandatory Covid-19 tests for admissions and surgical cases.
- 2-hourly cleaning and disinfection through-out the hospital.
- Practice of good hygiene (including hand hygiene) by all staff, doctors and visitors.
- Stringent monitoring of all patients, staff and doctors for ILI (Influenza like illness) and SARI (Severe Acute Respiratory Infection) symptoms.
- Frontliners and healthcare providers are equipped with the appropriate PPE and are Covid-19 vaccinated (completed in phases);
- Last but not least, Continuous update and following of the Guidelines from our Ministry of Health.
Covid patients are separated and isolated from the non-covid patients via a SPECIFIC COVID-19 PATHWAY, starting from the Isolation area of the Emergency Department and all the way to the dedicated Covid-19 ward. The pathway that has been used will then be closed for terminal cleaning.
Any visitor who shows flu-like symptoms will immediately be transferred to the Emergency Department for further assessment. Covid or suspected Covid cases are not treated in general outpatient areas.
Patients will be managed base on MOH guidelines to ensure the safety of patients, and all occupants in the hospital are maintained at all times.
For any medical attention or concerns, you can contact our Emergency Department directly at 03- 2160 0999 for our medical team to assist you accordingly.
