  • There is rise in the common sexually transmitted infection in the world as well as in Malaysia. These include genital warts, herpes genitalis, gonorrhoea, syphilis, chlamydia infection, nongonococcal urethritis, and HIV infection.

  • Some of the infections seen in the genital area are not sexually transmitted but sexually transmissible. This includes diseases such as molluscum contagiosum, and scabies.

  • Untreated or treated late, the sequelae may have a tremendous physical, financial,  and psychosocial impact or burden on the patient and family as well as the country as a whole.  

  • In Malaysia, the dermatologists have been specially trained to treat sexually transmitted diseases / infections (STDs/STIs). We work very closely with other specialists to treat any sequelae or complications that may arise. To avoid any complications, early treatment is of utmost importance.
