Kuala Lumpur, 30 October 2023 – Prince Court Medical Centre, in collaboration with Cleft Lip & Palate Association Malaysia (CLAPAM) and Art Market Malaysia, recently hosted a Charity Art Exhibition in conjunction of Cleft Awareness Month.
From October 23 to 28, a fundraising initiative took place at the medical centre’s lobby to help cleft patients. The event successfully raised awareness and donations with a total of RM14,450 paintings sold and 10% of the proceeds donated to CLAPAM.
The exhibition featured a diverse collection of artworks, including pieces by local artists, disabled artists, and children. With prices ranging from RM100 to RM8,000, there was art to suit every budget and taste.
Prince Court Consultant Orthodontist Datin Dr. Mumtaj Nisah Abd Rahim expressed her enthusiasm for the event: “At Prince Court, we understand the profound impact cleft can have on someone’s life. For those born with cleft lip and palate conditions, that journey to a beautiful and confident smile is very challenging, but it’s a journey we’re privileged to be a part of.”
Visitors to the exhibition also had the opportunity to learn more about cleft awareness. Art Market Malaysia and CLAPAM set-up informative booths at the lobby of Prince Court, providing valuable information and resources about cleft lip and palate conditions.
In addition to the art exhibition, the event also offered engaging activities, with a batik colouring session and an acrylic painting class organized for interested participants.
