It involves the study of the anatomy, physiology, and diseases of the eyes and their surrounding structures, including the eyelids, tear ducts, and optic nerves.

If you or someone you know is experiencing any symptoms related to eye disorders, it may be necessary to consult an ophthalmologist. These symptoms can include:

  • Blurred vision or difficulty focusing
  • Eye pain, discomfort or irritation
  • Redness, swelling, or discharge from the eyes
  • Sensitivity to light or glare
  • Floaters, spots, or flashes of light in the vision
  • Loss of peripheral vision or visual field
  • Double vision or seeing halos around lights
  • Drooping eyelids or other changes in the appearance of the eyes
